famished craving
WE LIVE IN A MYSTERY.
I TELL YOU WHAT WORKS FOR ME
AS BEST AS I CAN SEE.
BUT LIFE MAKES FOOLS OF US ALL.
I could start every post with that?
....
I woke up an hour early.
I got more work done early.
Mr. Bitter fought me.
I tried to pay no mind.
His ravenous attention,
rapacious enthusiasm -
I realized at some point
that he's a seeker too.
He won't find an answer
in this humble dwelling.
So why encourage him
and get stuck in his search?
I've found what I want,
and so my search is different.
You ask and you receive
eventually.
And so you seek to find.
It's why the Mass each morning
reaps some benefit.
Why get lost again
inside some bitter search
which just yields less and less
and all returns diminished?
T.S. Elliot wrote
something like these words:
a famished craving.
