faith walk

This illness is a walk of faith.

It's a test of patience.

Jesus warns not to expell the demons

before the proper time.

If you get rid of one

but remain spiritually weak,

you'll end up worse off than before.

That demon will get sick

of the arid dryness of the hellish realms

and will miss you,

miss you as it's comfortable home. 

It will come back with a bunch of 'friends'

and if they find you weak and unfortified,

they'll move right into you again.

You're condition will be worse than ever.

That's serious.

So this affliction is a walk of faith

and patience.

Build up your spiritual prowess.

Cultivate the virtues of faith, hope, and love -

so very necessary.

And yes, get rid of the vices that you can.

But mostly, you have to resign yourself

to a journey

and you don't know when it will finish.

(At least, I don't.)
