all about God's love

Mass with a Canadian bishop
just about every morning -
the Bishop of Ontario.
I travel there online.
I'm transported there through youtube;
very mystical, you know.

We Catholics are 'smells and bells,'
very earthy people.
It's true, there's been plenty of mystics,
but we're also very tactile.
We like smells and bells.
Am I mystic? No.
To me, that's a temptation
the demons hand to me
way, way, way too often.
Let's face it, I'm a sick dude,
a sinner, not a mystic.

A mystic knows what's she's doing,
someone like John of the Cross,
Saint Catherine of Siena.
What the hell I know?
I just stumble through life,
a demon-obsessed, sick dude.
You call me schizophrenic?
Right on, that's alright too.
Point is, I am sick -
sick and not a mystic,
and a poet when I know it.

The demons tempt me to pride
so, so very often.
I have to catch myself,
remember who I am,
remember God is with me
because He loves the crazies,
and wants me to love Him back.
It's all about the love.
It's all about the love.
Mysticism is cool,
but it's really about the love.
